No Title

Just some random stuff that I would like to mention.
It is so cold, at least to me it is. We are not use to the highs only being in the low 50's and the wind blowing 20 mph which makes a wind child pretty low.
Goodwill helps people in need that are handicap to help get housing when other wise they would have no way. We send our clothes, shoes and etc to countries that have nothing. All our goods are from donations which helps out the company in making the prices not too high that you can afford to buy something to wear. So I say this with great discus why would someone steal from Goodwill, my goodness I would be ashamed to even give it a second thought. Well I did catch someone stealing and it made me sick to my stomach. These people have stolen and more than once and I was so glad to be able to finally catch them.
I enjoyed watching my grandchildren play together running and laughing so hard and wearing their Papa out doing tricks. I love to hear their little voices so sweet tell you that,"I love you Meme".
I am so glad that the "White family" can still get together on Christmas Eve and laugh so hard that you can't get your breath, Even if we have heard the same story over and over. I really don't know how they can remember so far back at everything thing they did as "mean" boys :):)
I am so blessed to live in a home that we always dreamed about and having some land to go along with it.
And I have never made a New Years resolution before so this year will be the first, to get all my closets cleaned out so I can see what is in them.
So I wish everyone a very blessed New Year and continue to pray for Sherry Butler that she will recover from what ever illness has struck her body.

Just a Son's Portrait

This story was told at church, and was so touching.
This father and son loved paintings and evidently were well off to afford the high priced originals. For years they collected them and had so many that they displayed them all through out their mansion. When the father's son was old enough he was called to serve in the military. While over seas he met this other boy who loved to paint and they became best friends. While serving to pass time away the friend asked if he could paint the wealthy friends portrait. So he began to paint and as time passed he finished his painting.
One day as they began to fight in the battle the wealthy boy was killed when he took a bullet trying to save his friend from being killed. The boys father was devastated when hearing the news of his only sons death. Months passed and one day a young man came to visit the father of the fallen solider. He knocked on the door and the father greeted the visitor and the young man explained who he was and that his son saved his life that day. So as he entered the father's home the young man handed the man a package, when he opened it the painting of his son was unwrapped. The father was so happy and cried with excitement.
As the years passed, the father died and had no one to leave all his paintings and riches to so they began a auction to get rid of all the mans paintings and property.
As the auction began the first painting was the sons portrait. The crowd was not happy that the first painting was that of the man son. No one wanted to bid on that painting and they started yelling that they wanted the high priced painting to bid on not the painting of the mans son.
So all of a sudden a bid was yelled out for $10.00 and there was no other bid as the crowd wanted that painting gone so they could start on the others. As the auctioneer pounded his gavel, "sold for $10.00". The bidder was the yard keeper at the wealthy mans home. As the yard keeper came to get his painting of the mans son the auctioneer folded up his book and told the remaining people that the auction was over. They were all very angry and upset, but the auctioneer told the crowd that the man wanted this to be the secret and he was not able to tell, that who ever bid and got the son portrait would be the one who got the whole entire collection and his estate.
I know this story has a meaning and I guess there could be many. I took it as, you never know what something you might think is worthless could become something so priceless. Like the birth of our Lord and Savior. Born in a stable such a lowly place and the manger was his bed and it was full of hay. Who would of ever thought this precious baby born on Christmas day would become the King of Kings and the savior of the world?

The Hair Thang

OK, I am not sure but why has my hair started thinning out. I think that is the worse thing for a woman loosing her hair. I have really thought about going or inquiring about the "hair for men" thing on TV and now I see they have one for women. GREAT!!!! I have thought about even hair weaves but that's no good for your hair. So I guess I will have to live with thin hair right now.
When I was in high school I really had beautiful hair and long. Then I had children and chopped it all off, anyway long hair on "older women" not too flattering. Unless it is in really good shape and by the time you are in your 50's something strange happens to everything :):)
Your skin gets dried out, yes Matthew I do have dry skin and wrinkles. What I really like and this is probably a little personal but any way here it goes, you do not have to shave your legs. For some reason it stops growing on you legs which is fine with me. And then your body gets all out of whack, you get these jowls, double chin and what ever else. I guess to be a size 5/7 will never be in my sight any more and now I have just got to deal with it. I really don't think that size is really all that healthy anyway. I did loose about 50 lbs when I was about to die and could not eat anything for 6 months but thank the Lord that's over and I hope and pray that never happens again. Who likes to have nausea unless you are going to have a baby:):)
I know I am rambling, but I am waiting for a hour or so on my hair to get high-lighted so I thought I would just blog for a bit.
I am so ready for Christmas to get here, I know the grand-kids will really have a ball this year.
My mother ask Britt at Thanksgiving what he wanted Santa to bring him, well she had a little shock answer from a 4 year old. "Grandmaw, there is no Santa Clause, he is not real". Well to put it mildly it knocked the socks off of her with that answer, it was pretty funny. Well a very hours later Britt asked me,"Meme is Santa real"? Yes baby, Santa is real and I left it at that.
How long do you get to believe in him, not long at all and Yes there is a Santa, it's Mama and Daddy. I remember believing for just a little while, at least that is what my mom and dad thought. We would get up early, get the car keys and go outside and get in to the trunk of the car and find every present before they were wrapped, it was so much fun. We really had to acted surprised at what every we got. The thing I guess I really wanted that I never did get was a Easy Bake Oven, but maybe they didn't have them when I was little. The next thing was for it to snow on Christmas Day or really any day would be fine with me.

Night Posting ???

I agree with Sarah, why the "night" posting. I think that I feel so much better at this time of night that I can not go to sleep. Every morning I feel so rotten and as the day goes by the better I feel. Actually this week so far, I have not thrown up. I know it sounds gross and I must say I hate it, but I can't help it.
I also have been having "night" cravings, this is terrible. Mike has gotten to the point of counting every snack and compares who has eaten the most, and you guessed it ME. This really gets me highly up-set, why buy something and never eat it and then count how many is left. Good grief, give me a BREAK !!!!
And then have the nerve to hide snacks in HIS bedroom. He use to hide money and never tell me where it was until I found it in a picture frame.
Let me now go on to the horror of choking. Well it will scare you to death and yes I think of the worse thing possible that could happen -DEATH. Last Friday when Celie stayed the night with us she was in her Papa's lap. She loves keys so I gave her a key ring of her own and she plays with it soooooo the next thing I know Papa (Mikie) is saying to me,"Is Celie supposed to have this in her mouth?" Well NO, it is a key chain but guess who had it in her mouth? It now has something added to it and hopefully she won't swallow it.
Flu shot - NOT-GONNA-DO-IT!!!!! I do not want anything poked in to my arm.
I still have not decorated my tree yet, lights yes other things, NO. I will get to it tomorrow night or afternoon.I did actually put the skirt under it and had it all neat but when we came home from church it was a total mess. One of the girls, Macie or Daphanie did it but neither will say. I did ask and they both gave me the sad eyes, I really think it was Daf.

O Christmas Tree how lovely are your branches

Well I did just put up my tree last night ( lights only ) and will decorate today, I hope. We have had this same tree I know for 20 years. I really prefer real but since we had a problem with bugs on them, fake is the way to go. But never will it replace the beauty of a real one. The smell is wonderful, you don't have to have a large storage building to store it in and you can just throw it away when Christmas is over. Then I feel pretty sad about the real tree that has to be cut down and then has to die. And then thrown to the side of the road for garbage, if left in the forest birds could have made a nest in it. Great day..... what am I doing, about to cry here. But on the other hand they sure are a fire hazard if you fail to keep it plenty of water. So many houses have burned and lives lost because of fires from a dried up tree, then there are the pine needles that fall off everywhere. Not so with a fake tree!!! So what am I trying to say, not really sure but I guess the fake out weighs the real in the long run.
But the smell is what I really miss, is there something you can get to mimic the pine scent?????
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!

Oh Happy Day

"Oh happy day, when Jesus washed he washed my sins away" Just had to throw that in for a thought, in which I am truly thankful for.
Now on with my post for the day. I have been up since 3:30am wide awake so I did a little online shopping. It's really a lot of fun and I can go places and not have to get out in this rain we are having right now. I really wish it would snow, just a little bit, just a few flakes will do.
I remember going to Vail, Colorado about 12 years ago or so and we went nuts for just a little while. We rented a van in Denver and was driving to Vail and went through a under pass and when we came out the other end it was snowing like crazy. It was in May and in Florida when we left it was very hot so the boys had on shorts for the flight out to Colorado. When it started snowing Mike pulled the van over and we got out like a bunch of crazy tourist and played in the snow while the traffic passing by I guess thought we were nuts. But it was so much fun!!
We had an eventful time for sure while there. Before actually getting there on the way we were in a rock slide and had to wait on the side of the road for hours until the boulders were removed, that was not fun. We road on the ski lift 20 times at least because it was not skiing weather and no one was hardly there. We were in such high altitude I got the worst headache that I had ever had in my life and had to stay in bed for a whole day.
When we got there the snow had melted and the nasty muddy left over snow was there and that was not a pretty sight on the roads. But when the sun came out it was BEAUTIFUL and breath taking so we decited to go down in the valley and ride horses. The most beautiful yellow flowers covered the whole valley and then here we all come riding up on horses. I forgot to mention who all was there, Mrs. White, Stephen, Mike, Me, Matthew and Adam. We were in a group with other people also and we started riding ( and praying) at least I know Matthew did because he was scared to death of his horse. I guess he thought it was going to take off with him down the mountain and he would be killed :):):) Then we went river rafting BIG MISTAKE EVER, we were in a pure electrical storm and lightening striking every where and we were scared to death plus the water was freezing. But we made it back from the river unharmed.
I did have some pictures but that was before you could afford a digital camera, so I can't post any right now. Well it is almost 8am and Celie bug will be getting up pretty soon. When she stays at Meme and Papa's she gets to stay up until almost 8pm so she sleeps in a little bit longer on Saturdays. This is the place where Papa says there are NO rules :)

New Maid - Couldn't help myself :)

Well this morning when I got up it was like a bolt of lightening hit me with this thought. I have been thinking and worrying about my mom not having anything to do to pass all her time away. So when this morning came I got up and was not happy about my messy house. So BAM!!! Call mama and maybe since she has nothing to do on Thursdays she might would come and clean my house today. Well I gave her a call and asked what plans she had for the day and she said none ;0) so I asked if she could come and she willingly said YES!!!!! YEA-YEA-YEA!!!!! It was like a million pounds fell completely off me.
I know what you are thinking,"How can 2 adults make such messes"?? Well it really isn't that hard if you live with me. Here is my routine, Monday - I keep Celie and that is not a day you get to clean much, it's play time most of the day.
Tuesday- I work 10am-3:30pm and by the time I get home it is time to start thinking about what to cook, wash clothes, try to clean some, I hate to do dishes so most of the time they are left until morning in the sink. I know that is gross but my feet are killing me by that time so I have to rest a little. After eating, Mike has about 5-15 invoices that I have to get out or wake up at 5:30 the next morning to do them. I also have to have my music ready with words for Wednesday praise team practice. Usually I start that on Monday night with some idea and finish it up on Tuesday night.
Wednesday- Same as above except I have to be at church at 6:00 and most of the time I don't make it home from work in time to come home so I just go straight to church. So I do not get a chance to cook so my sweet kind mother has Mike and I dinner ready and brings it to church so we can eat after we get home. By that time I have some more invoices to do, wash, think about personal bills that need to be paid, take a bath and get in bed.
Thursday- This day is exactly like Tuesday, you never can let laundry get backed up or I will have it piled up and I really don't like to have that to worry with and I like to wear CLEAN clothes. My feet by this time during the week are killing me with heel spurs that were gone until I started standing on my feet for 5 hours. Invoices have got to be done ASAP. I also teach Sunday school and I have to get my lesson done by this time of the week.
Friday- This the best day! Last day of work for the week, I sometimes get to eat at Pepper's and then get Celie for the night. Since she goes to bed so early I do get a chance to get caught up on some things.
Saturday- I really like to stay in and try to get some house work done but mostly this is a really do nothing day.
So I said all that to say THIS, I NEED A MAID!!!!! So I called up mom and she has agreed to come every Thurday and help me keep a tidy house and hopefully will help her out also with a little extra money. I am so excited YEA!!!!!

Just Some Random Stuff

I know this will probably be really boring as I am trying to blog more often than before. But who really cares???? I can not believe that it is December and Christmas will be here before we know it. I have almost finished shopping and hope I will be done soon. I never knew the fun of online shopping until last year.
Goodness it pays to do it, with free shipping and then you have 90 days to pay. You can shop 24/7 and it can be freezing, raining or what ever and your inside warm and dry. I like the fact that the UPS brings it right to your door and you don't have to use your own gas. I got some really good deals from ToysRUS this year.
We really had a wonderful Thanksgiving, turkey and dressing, peas, fresh green beans, mac and cheese, crandberry and desserts. I must say the dressing was wonderful as was the sweet potaoe suffle. I think Adam ate most of the dressing and that was the #1 thing in food he asked for. So I was happy to make it for him. We all said what we were thankful for through tears and all and then it was my grandson Britt's turn. Well we really didn't expect what came out of his mouth, he was thankful for a safe trip to Meme and Papa's house. Now how sweet was that, he was so cute.
Then on Saturday morning we celebrated Paisley's 2nd birthday. And thank the Lord we had a Ronda Tull cake that was wonderful. That afternoon we traveled to Apalachicola where the "White Family" dined on great seafood at Papa Joe's.
We had a great time of family being together and laughter.
